On Sunday, March 23rd, Angel Dance Company, LingoAce, Star Fencing Academy, and Jun Zi Lan Montessori School hosted a community event at the Weston Town Recreation Center inspired by the movie Nezha 2. Nezha 2 is about how, after a catastrophe, both Nezha and Aobing’s bodies shattered, yet their souls were saved. Taiyi Zhenren, the leader of the Qingwei sect and master of Nezha, planned to use the seven-colored lotus to rebuild their bodies. This community event included some of Nezha’s favorite activities such as kicking shuttlecock, hula hooping, performing a Nezha inspired dance, learning kung fu, making handicrafts, narrating the story of Nezha, and designing Nezha boutique gifts! The atmosphere was eventful and festive; everyone was having fun, making handicrafts and watching dance performances! Annabelle Liu, a member of Angel Dance Company, volunteered to help with the hula hooping activity and said that sharing people's cultural heritage through events helps bring the community together. This festive event was a wonderful experience of connections!
